In 2019, every breakthrough in synthetic biology hit the same wall: no one would build the factory. Startups with world-class strains were spending years and hundreds of millions on infrastructure instead of on their products.
Planetary was founded to fix that. We raised the capital, built the facilities, and assembled the operational team so that every biotech innovator — from seed-stage to Fortune 500 — can access world-class fermentation capacity on demand.
Today we operate a network spanning three continents, producing everything from precision-fermented food proteins to pharmaceutical APIs to industrial enzymes. Our mission is simple: make bio-based production so accessible it becomes the default.
